Maple Sugar Weekend
A special weekend is planned at the lovely Candlelite Inn and with the State of NH-New Hampshire Maple Weekend. This special weekend will be on March 28-30, 2008. Your 2-night getaway includes light hors d'oeuvres on Friday evening as you unwind from a hectic work week. A full maple breakfast will be served each morning. We'll provide you with a map of the area "sugar houses". You'll see maple syrup made the old fashioned way. After a day of touring, slip away for a romantic sleigh ride through the fields of Ragged View Farm. (Spring rides depend on snow cover.) Or soothe tired muscles with a maple sugar body scrub at the Garden Spa.
Then back to the Inn for maple hot chocolate and maple sweets. Upon departure a Maple Gift Basket will be given as a pleasant reminder of the sweet smell of maple that waffled through the air.

Bird Watchers Getaway
The Audubon Society of New Hampshire has 32 Wildlife sanctuaries throughout New Hampshire. The Society provides a habitat for wildlife and places where people can go and connect with nature. Many offer trails for hiking, several sanctuaries have canoe access, some have special weekends and events planned and many, you are able to take a picnic lunch with you. Included in your weekend getaway package is your lodging for 2 nights with a full breakfast each morning; a birder's gift basket with info and trail maps and the Candlelite Inn will make a $10 donation to the Audubon Society.

Soar through space and experience the night sky as you sit back in the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Concord viewing the stars, planets and other celestial objects. Bring good binoculars or your telescope and view the sky on the grounds of the Candlelite Inn. An Evening at the Playhouse

4th of July at the Inn
Celebrate the 4th this year here at the Inn. I've been told by the Independence Day Committee that it's going to be better than last year. There's something for everyone-chicken BBQ, craft fair, band concert, just to give you a sampling of some of the activities. The festivities will be held July 4th & 6th and everything is in walking distance from the Inn. Grab a chair or sit on the curb-as you did when you were a kid-and enjoy the parade. Kayaking on the Blackwater River
Explore the Blackwater River. Take a relaxing tour in quiet water and spot various waterlife from beaver, heron and turtles to bass, trout and pickerel. Safety features, equipment and paddle strokes will be demonstrated. If the water is warm enough--enjoy a swim. Tours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 2-5 PM.
