Maple Sugar Weekend
A special weekend is planned at the lovely Candlelite Inn and with the State of NH-New Hampshire Maple Weekend. This special weekend will be on March 26-28, 2010. Your 2-night getaway includes cheese & crackers on Friday evening as you unwind from a hectic work week. A full maple breakfast will be served each morning. We'll provide you with a map of the area "sugar houses". You'll see maple syrup made the old fashioned way. After a day of touring, slip away for a romantic sleigh ride (depending on the weather conditions & additional charge) Or soothe tired muscles with a massage in the privacy of your room (additional charge). Then back to the Inn for maple hot chocolate and maple sweets. Upon departure a Maple Gift Basket will be given as a pleasant reminder of the sweet smell of maple that waffled through the air.

Chocolate Lover's Weekend

If chocolate is your passion, then this weekend is just for you. The Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce and Colby Sawyer College is presenting the 15th Annual Chocolate Fest. You will be introduced to tasty desserts, cakes, candy from area inns and restaurants. As you indulge yourself, pastry chefs & chocolatiers will come together as they vie for the 2010 winner. Package includes breakfast each morning with dessert, 2 complimentary tickets to the Chocolate Fest, 10% off for dinner at an area restaurant and a box of homemade chocolates. A 2 night minimum is required.
For History Lovers
Step back in time as you visit the John Hay Estate, the Kearsarge Indian Museum, NH Telephone Museum & Canterbury Shaker Village. Stroll the perennial gardens and observe birds and other wildlife in their open meadows of the Fells. Journey through 15,000 years of history of native people with their baskets, beads and clothing at the Indian Museum. Discover 130 years of telephone history in which the museum has preserved telephone communication with exhibits, video and tour. The Canterbury Shaker Village interprets 200 years of Shaker life through photos, exhibits, buildings, gardens and tours. Bird Watchers Getaway
June thru October. The Audubon Society of New Hampshire has 32 Wildlife sanctuaries throughout New Hampshire. The Society provides a habitat for wildlife and places where people can go and connect with nature. Many offer trails for hiking, several sanctuaries have canoe access, some have special weekends and events planned and many, you are able to take a picnic lunch. Your package includes a scrumptious, 3-course breakfast, afternoon refreshments and a Birder's Welcome Basket. $15 above room rate. 2 nights required with this package.

A Mother's Love
Upon Mom's arrival, a spring bouquet of flowers and a box of homemade chocolates will be waiting in one of our beautifully decorated and cozy guest rooms. A scrumptious 3-course breakfast will be served before she sets out to explore the Lake Sunapee Region. When Mom make her way back to the Inn, she will have her choice of either an Afternoon Tea and Cookies-teas from Portsmouth Tea Company and specially brewed or sparkling Cider and a fruit tray out on the porch or by the pond. $45 above room rate. 2 night minimum stay required.
4th of July at the Inn
Celebrate the 4th this year here at the Inn. I've been told by the Independence Day Committee that it's going to be better than last year. There's something for everyone-chicken BBQ, craft fair, roast beef dinner, just to give you a sampling of some of the activities. The festivities will be held July 2rd to 4th and everything is in walking distance from the Inn. Grab a chair or sit on the curb-as you did when you were a kid-and enjoy the parade. After the fantastic display of fireworks-popcorn included-come in for some mouth watering desserts. Have a happy 4th here at the Candlelite Inn.
A Fair to Remember
Midweek only-August 6-15. If you enjoy fine handcrafts, you'll enjoy this crafts fair. From furniture, jewelry, glass to pottery, metalwork and weaving. And that is only a sampling of what you will see at this juried craft show. Located at Mt Sunapee Resort which is only 9 miles from the Inn. Your package includes your 3-course breakfast each morning, 2 tickets to the crafts fair, cheese tray, evening refreshments and 10% off dinner at an area restaurant.

Antiquing in New Hampshire
Scour the area antique shops, auctions, barn sales and flea markets as you look for that special treasure. This package is available June thru October. Package includes a full gourmet breakfast-with dessert, folder containing the best antique shops and auctions and a box lunch for 2.

Romance on the Lake
June thru Labor Day Weekend-Tuesday thru Sunday. Before you travel over to Sunapee Harbor for your dinner cruise, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the gardens and house of the John Hay Estate. Continuing down the road, it's over to Sunapee Harbor as you set sail on the MV Kearsarge for a scrumptious buffet. The captain will talk of the history, folklore and points of interest of this beautiful mountain lake as you cruise Lake Sunapee. As the evening starts to settle in, on shore comes the twinkling of lights as the lake owners start settling in for the night. Package also include a delicious gourmet breakfast with dessert each morning and also afternoon and evening refreshments. $115 above room rate. Tax & gratuities are included on the dinner cruise. Alcohol is not included.
